Hi Capturing Joy readers! Did this year seem to just fly right by for anyone else? I can’t believe Christmas is just around the corner! I’m so not ready to think about Christmas shopping, but I am ready for fun Christmas décor and I got started with creating this fun reindeer printable. I didn’t hand-letter this print like I did last month’s, but I did draw the reindeer so that counts for something, right? I’ve been loving patterns lately so I thought it would be fun to add that as a design element on the reindeer.
Print the template at the scale of your choice. You can either trace the template onto the block using carbon paper, or you can cut it out and glue it to the wood block. If you plan to make a lot of reindeer figures, transfer the template to a piece of hardboard or thin plywood and use those for your layouts as we did in the pictures. Use common lumber and simple tools, along with inexpensive paints and embellishments, to build these cheerful decorations you'll use for years to come. I designed these to fill all the white space when printed like you see in the plaid print but if you prefer more white space (as in the floral print with the red mat shown above) that’s easy to do. When you send the document to print, you simply select to scale the image down to 80 or 90% in the printer options window.
